StoveTec Deluxe 2-Door Rocket Stove
StoveTec offers two distinct types of consumer stoves, the “one door” stove and the “two door” stove. StoveTec also offers an institutional stove for high volume cooking needs such as in refugee camps or make shift hospital settings along with various accessories to facilitate the cooking experience.
The 1 and 2 door stoves are both very efficient using only wood or flammable biomass fuel for cooking, rather than charcoal. StoveTec also characterizes two primary types of cooking as being either high or low power. We consider high power cooking as high temperature cooking with more fuel, as performed with boiling, grilling, frying, and/or using a wok. We consider low power cooking performed with low temperature simmering, use with covered retained heat cookers, or grilling slowly on a BBQ grill. The guide below is intended to assist you in making the best choice for your stove selection:
The 2-door stove design refers to the top upper door, leading to the combustion chamber fuel insertion entrance (also can be top loaded), and the bottom ventilation door (for fine tuned temperature control). It is capable of utilizing charcoal fuel for low power cooking, in addition to wood & biomass fuels. Charcoal is not efficient for high firepower cooking applications (boiling, frying or using a wok, due to distance from pot to charcoal grate). The additional spare grate is not required in the 2-door stove, and is a spare. We recommend quality lump charcoal fuel only in our 2 door stoves if using charcoal. Many charcoal briquettes now are produced with additional chemicals and fuel accelerants that may damage stove combustion chamber ceramic or refractory metal. No long-term studies have been completed with fuel accelerants in conjunction with our ceramic combustion chambers. StoveTec household stoves are designed for outdoor use only.
